Day 1
Board your flight from
London Heathrow to Madrid and then onto Rio de Janeiro. On arrival you will be
met and transferred to Marina Palace.
Day 1 – Day 2
1 Night at
the Marina Palace Hotel, Rio De Janerio on a Bed & Breakfast basis.
The
Marina Palace is not our usual choice of hotel due it’s size and high rise
design but there is no doubt that the hotel offers great value in one of the
best locations in Rio. Situated right on Leblon beach and two short blocks from
the centre of Leblon with chic boutiques, an array of eateries and of course
the colours and character of daily Rio life with street sellers and poodle
walkers!
Ocean view rooms are very affordable so
we’ll only book these. Rooms are bright
and airy but conventional with all mod cons.
Breakfast is in a wonderful lower floor room almost on the beach! And is
fantastic for people watching. Generous
breakfasts and charming staff. There’s a
small rooftop terrace and plunge pool with tremendous views along the coast and
to Christ the Redeemer. Perfect for sunset cocktails. Highly recommended.

Transfer to Buzios and the
Villa D’este.

5 nights at Vila d’este, Buzios on a
bed and breakfast basis
The strap line at Vila d’este is ‘handmade hospitality’,
which sums up the friendly and helpful staff perfectly. However, what it
doesn’t refer to is the spectacular view from the common areas and sea view
rooms of Armacao Bay and the mountains beyond.
Just a short
walk from the bars, restaurants and beaches Vila d’este is perfect for those
who want a small intimate hotel but also want to be able to experience the life
and soul of one of Brazil’s most popular resorts.
The rooms are clean and comfortable and make
full use of the view while the one master suite is 
something very special with a 4 poster bed,
private Jacuzzi and deck.
This is the
perfect place for a few days R & R at the start of end of a holiday.
No children under 14.

To escape to
verdict: Much quieter and more intimate than
it’s better known neighbour Casas Brancas. All the sea view rooms are lovely
but if you can stretch to one of the two suites it will make a memorable stay.
Avoid weekends in season unless you like a party as Buzios gets very busy.

Bustling, fashionable,
trendy, beautiful! Hang out looking pretty or cruise around in your beach
buggy. It’s the ultimate playground and laze ground. Surf and bathing beaches,
bars and clubs Buzios has it all but
the Insolito is the perfect place to base yourself in style for dipping in and
out of the town when you want to.

mins drive from Paraty, breakfast & dinner.
The Pousada in the little fishing village of Picinguaba and
very proud to completely disconnect you from the world outside. There is no
internet connection in the rooms, no telephone, TV or air conditioner
Rooms are
white washed with sea blue trim, high quality crisp bed linen, ceiling fan and
mosquito net. All have balconies with hammock and fresh chilled spring water in
a flask.
Simplicity is the theme throughout the
pousada. There are only 10 rooms, surrounding specious gardens with medium
sized pool positioned high above the pretty harbour, fishing village and 3 km
deserted beach which is a 20 minute kayak paddle away.
Lots of local touches have been purposefully incorporated by
the French owner, Emmanuel. 20 local people are employed from the village and
they use the natural spring and local fruit, vegetables and of course
magnificent fresh fish.
Breakfast and
dinner are included but a packed lunch can be prepared or the fresh catch of
the day in the beach café in the village. There is an honesty box for the bar
if you fancy a night cap.

areas, natural sauna, massage (by appointment), own schooner for boat trips.
Activities
nearby: 3 km deserted beach, kayaks, 2 surf

deserted islands.

verdict: We
love Picinguaba in every respect especially for it’s simplicity, location and
charming staff. It’s a very special place to really escape the pressures of our
media led society and find nature again and time for each other. Perfect for
beginning or end of a holiday or simply a whole holiday and nothing else!
Day 15
Transfer to Rio Airport and board your overnight
flight to Madrid.
Day 16
Arrive in Madrid and board your connecting flight to
London Heathrow.

happy to advise on this.

Car Rental Costs - If you are renting a
car please also consider fuel, toll roads and additional driver charges.

out fully comprehensive travel insurance (not included).

Visas - There may be additional visa costs
for some countries, please enquire at time of booking.

Tips - we recommend 10 - 15% in
restaurants, depending on your satisfaction with the service

Airline Surcharges - Increasingly airlines
are adding surcharges to their fares due to additional fuel charges. In most
cases we absorb these costs however in extreme circumstances (surcharges of £30
